What is the Story of Adhurs?
Adurs is the story of twins who get separated at birth. One is Narasimha (NTR) gets raised by a single mother and he becomes an undercover agent to a cop(Shiyaji Sinde). The second one is Chari (NTR) brought up by a brahmin family. A gang of Villains (Asish Vidyardhi and Mahesh Manjrekar) search for the family of a top scientist (Najar). Chandrakala (Nayantara) pairs up with Chari and another cosmo-girl (Sheela) becomes the love interest of Narasimha. The rest of the story is about the relationship between the scientist and the twins and the comedy generated by switching between the characters.
Actors Performance
Jr NTR has done his best as usual. Particularly with the character of Chary,he brought many laughs in theaters. Narasimha part is quite routine like in many of his films. His dances took away the breath of audiences. Especially his steps in ‘pilla na valla kaadu’ received once-mores in theatres. But the costumes part is very weak. Why did he put on jackets in every scene? That’s not understood.
Nayantara is slim and sleek while Sheela looted young hearts with glowing skin and sensuous garments. Nothing more is left for heroines than this to discuss. There is no chance for these actress to perform.
Brahmanandam is ok as Bhattu but more is expected from him in last 30 minutes as well. The film would have brought better feel with that. Raghu Babu is good and MS Narayana is better.
Final Cut
First half of the movie is ok with some nice entertainment by Chari (NTR) and Bramanandam. But, the second half of the movie is not made well. The 3 serious villains (Sayaji Shinde, Asish Vidyardhi & Mahesh Manjrekar) were transformed into comedy villains in the second half which ruins the situation. The climax should have been better. Plus point of the movie is comedy by Chari character. The story and screenplay are the weak. V.V Vinayak should have concentrated more on Narasimha character to get the balance in terms of emotion and action orientation. Overall, it is a good film to watch atleast once.
